매일매일 영어(#8) - 원급비교

안녕하세요 매일매일 영어입니다.

 

영어문법의 비교에는 크게 원급비교와 비교급이 있습니다.

 

오늘은 비교를 표현하는 방법 중 원급비교에 대해 알아보겠습니다.

 

● 원급비교

1) as + 형용사/부사의 원급 + as : ~만큼 ~한/하게

Jack is as tall as Bob

Jack은 Bob만큼 키가 크다.

The weather of Malaysia is just as nice as Phillipone. 

말레이시아의 날씨는 필리핀 만큼 좋다.

He speaks Korean as well as a native speaker.

그는 원어민만큼 한국어를 잘한다.

The incoming employee will be faced with as many problems as other workers have.

새로 들어온 직원은 다른 근로자들이 가지고 있는것 만큼 많은 문제를 직면할 것이다.

The outdoor jacket is made of a new material which is as light as a feather.

야외용 재킷은 깃털처럼 가벼운 신소재로 만들어져 있다.

 

2) not as + 형용사/부사의 원급 + as : ~만큼 ~하지않은

These breads are not as good as Sally's 

이 빵들은 Sally의 것만큼 맛있지 않다.

I don't eat food as slowly as my younger sister.

나는 내 여동생만큼 음식을 느리게 먹지 않는다. 

This car is not as fast as James'

이 차는 James의 차만큼 빠르지 않다.

 

 

3) the same + (명사) + as : ~와 똑같은 

The title of the album is actually the same as the singer's name

앨범의 제목은 가수의 이름과 똑같다.

The newest computer model has the same features as the one released three years ago

최신형 컴퓨터 모델은 삼 년 전에 출시된 것과 똑같은 특징을 가지고 있다. 

 

4) just/almost/nearly/twice/etc + as ~ as : 원급의미 강조(~만큼)

Investment has risen triple as much as consumption for the last decade.

지난 10년 간 투자는 소비의 세 배만큼  증가했다.

 

5) as ~ as possible : 가능한 한 ~ 하게

as soon as possible → Bring your homework as soon as possible.

너의 숙제를 가능한 한 빨리 가지고와라.

as long as possible → I want to live in Korea as long as possible.

나는 가능한 한 오래 한국에서 살고 싶다.

as rapidly as possible → Leave the building as rapidly as possible

건물을 가능한 한 빨리 나떠나세요.
